Your 1 hour 50 minute (actual time in the submarine is 60 minutes) adventure begins in downtown Oranjestad when you board Atlantis' surface vessel.

Once aboard the submarine, moored just off the south-east coast of Aruba, you'll go for a thrilling dive to the Barcadera Reefs and view two shipwrecks.

Frenchman's Pass Historical Site - Overhanging trees and towering cacti border this luscious stretch of road almost midway between Oranjestad and San Nicolas.

Old City of Savaneta - Formerly Aruba's first capital, today Savanet is a bustling fishing village with a 150-year-old mud hut, the oldest dwelling still standing on the island.

San Nicolas - Aruba's second capital and oldest village was a bustling port at one time. San Nicolas is home to Aruba's main red-light district, offering plenty of street color.

Swim at Baby Beach - Located on the island's eastern tip, the semicircular beach borders a beach that invites swimmers with its placid blue and shallow waters.

On your return journey, you drive through downtown Oranjestad. You have the choice to be dropped off downtown to wander amongst the shops and marvel at the Dutch architecture, or be dropped off at your hotel.

Please note: The afternoon tour will be visiting the Alto Vista Chapel and California Lighthouse instead of Baby Beach.

Now for something completely different! This vessel remains above sea level at all times, while its hull - at 5 feet below the surface - provides spectacular viewing of the Arashi Coral Reef, abundant Caribbean sea life and the famous WWII German shipwreck, Antilla.

The Seaworld Explorer is a state-of-the-art semi-submarine developed in Australia for use on the Great Barrier Reef. The vessel does not submerge; you descend into the hull of this cruising underwater observatory and sit in air-conditioned comfort five feet below the surface of the water, exploring amazing sea life through large, clear glass windows.

Your journey begins as you board a transfer boat that takes you to the Seaworld Explorer, waiting near renowned Arashi Reef. Your skilled captain and knowledgeable narrator guide the semi-submarine through this wondrous reef filled with beautiful coral formations and hundreds of spectacular tropical fish.

Leaving Arashi Reef, the Seaworld Explorer takes you to the wreck of the Antilla, a 423-foot (128 meter) German freighter destroyed during World War II. The huge ship lies on her side in 60 feet of water where it is only partially submerged, providing a resting-place for the pelicans that frequent it. Measuring 423 feet in length, this is the largest wreck in the Caribbean.
